Self-Portrait Painting

Children here first paint the shape of their face, nose and ears and the use their investigations from the previous activity to add the details. Children here further develop the investigation skills and also develop problem solving skills through this activity.

Make Mask of My Favourite Animal

Children will look at the animal sketch they have made and using oil pastels draw the outline of the same on a black chart paper. And the using oil pastels children will add more details using the oil pastels while mixing various colours and also using their fingers to blend two colours. They then cut the outline of their animal head and the add some more details using the collage paper. Children through this activity develop the attitude of doing things in a multi-step process and also develop fine motor skills.

Making Collage Puppet

In this activity children are encouraged to think on their own, collaborate with others and work on a multi-step project as well. Here children think of a story and about 2 characters In the story. They then note the smaller details of the characters like is the character boy or a girl, what is the character wearing, their hair and may other details and using the collage paper and the ice cream sticks provided to make a hand puppet. Here they use few investigations from their 2D investigation too. Children develop communication skills, their fine motor skills when they make the collage paper explorations and also their imagination skills through this activity.

Make the Background for a Puppet Show

In this activity children will make a background for their puppet. Here they will think about where does their story take place, where do their puppet live and other nuances of the story to make a background that is used for the puppet show. Children use collage paper here where they bring more and more investigations of the collage paper and add details to the background. Children will further develop their fine motor skills, communication skills while collaborating with others and also tell their story through a puppet show and will also learn to work on a multi-step process work.
